PSE，Pre-sessional English Course

课前语言课，也是我们经常说的“语言班”。通常学制为4周，6周或10周，也有高达20周的。PSE的核心目标，是为了帮助国际学生在正课开始之前，提前做好学习准备，具有高度针对性，特别是西方学术英语能力。

那语言班到底都上什么呢？

我们以爱丁堡大学的语言班课程为例：

These courses aim toenable students to participate fully in all aspects of a postgraduate programme taught in English at the University of Edinburgh. These courses focus on:

Writing (paraphrasing, summarising and synthesizing)

Listening (lecture listening and note-taking)

Speaking (discussion and scenarios)

Reading (reading academic texts)

Academic language study

课程以听说读写和西方学术英语为主，但是更侧重英国研究生学习，不再是应试的课程。

What does ‘successful completion of the Pre-Sessional English programme’ mean?

Minimum of 90% Attendance in class 考勤率不得低于90%

Submission and successful completion of the Written Project and Oral Presentation to a satisfactory standard (amark of at least 55)** 论文写作和演讲不得低于55分

Attendance at all four components of the final progress test* 参加所有考试

See？真的没有很困难对不对？

那学费是不是很贵？听说要十几万？

我们再来参考下纽卡斯尔的语言班学费：

10 weeks£4,900 十周的语言班只需要4900英镑（约等于43120人民币）6 weeks£2,950 六周的语言班只需要2950英镑（约等于25960人民币）

是不是和我们在国内上辅导班价格差不多？我们却可以更早的去英国适应和学习当地的文化和西方学术。
